Meditation on AUM
There are several ways to meditate on the Mantra AUM. They are all different entry points to the reality that lies beyond that Mantra: the divine spark that is the Self.
As you may know, in our school we mostly seek that reality by cutting directly through the form of the Mantra. We meditate on each letter alternatingly, each time for a short moment.
While doing so, we start to peel off its layers. First form, then information. Becoming one with the Essence. Then, when we have become one with that Essence, which is the Wholeness of the ‘small’ reality that is such a letter, we let go of that layer.
We will then start looking at that Wholeness from a point beyond it. This way we become One with the Observer, which is just one of many names for the indescribably reality that is our own true nature, which is divine in origin.
This method may eventually lead to an experience of Self-Realisation, or: realising that you are in fact the Self. And that that Self is in fact a small but at the same time endless part of the larger Self that is our Universe.
Whether you will reach this point of Self-Realisation in this life and when it will happen, depends upon a complex mix of your aspiration, how dedicated you practice this method, your point of spiritual development (the degree of unfoldment of Light of your Being), your karma and your other responsibilities.
You can read more about this in my book Dynamic Pranava Meditation.
